what the fuck is with people going bananas over Karen O.? you do know she’s been around, right? apparently she’s doing some of, most of, all of, i don’t know, the music for where the wild things are. and that’s cool, the movie is going to be fucking amazing and i am honestly nervous about seeing it because of the emotional state it’s going to put me in. but i’m not going to be crying my eyes out in the theater because of anything karen o. does, it’s going to be because of the actual wild things and that boy.
where the wild things are. the trailers/posters start popping up and some kids are like, “shit yeah my parents read me that book when i was a kid,” and other kids are like, “what? a movie with arcade fire in the trailer? and karen o.’s involved? oh yeah i knew about this years ago. what? um, oh yeah the book… yeah i’ve read it like 20 times.”
karen o. what happened to her? as in, i really haven’t been paying attention to what she’s been up to. i mean obviously she is doing this movie music thing right now. i went bonkers over fever to tell, but everything the YYY’s did after that never really did it for me. that said, i haven’t heard it’s blitz yet. it’s just frustrating that kids are getting so worked up about her now. when i was in my crazy-about-yyy’s phase, i only knew one other person my age (at time, 14 or 15 i think) who knew who they were, and she was this extremely cute girl that i couldn’t ever talk to.
