those fans of the vancouver canucks really fucked up. whether it’s true or not, many people are going to look at your entire city and fanbase as a group of terrible sore losers and overall douchebags. the team is only 40 years old, and this kind of behaviour just makes the fans seem so young and immature, and lacking respect for the nature of the game. to be honest i really didn’t care for the canucks team at all (it was all based on celebrity names and stats, rather than human emotion and determination), but i’m surprised that i could somehow dislike the fans even more so.
the whole canada vs usa thing is so stupid it makes me want to kill myself for having to breathe the same air as the motherfuckers who talk about it. everyone knows almost all of the players on every team are canadian, and i don’t think this will tarnish canada’s reputation when it comes to hockey. i mean seriously, we didn’t see riots in montreal after the bruins beat them this year, and they have a pretty fucking serious rivalry that has its own wikipedia page.
as a bruins fan (my dad was also a canadian bruins fan growing up), i am so happy that they won the stanley cup and think they thoroughly deserved it. it’s a shame that vancouver had to take it to the low level of rioting, but they did.
hopefully the new team in winnipeg next year will generate lots of canadian positivity. not only canada, but the whole league could do without incidents like the one in vancouver last night. if i’m blunt… the vancouver franchise really does nothing for me and i wouldn’t shed a tear if it was sold to pay for the damages these idiot “fans” made last night.
